Michael Byron Sprague
We are excited to be welcoming Michael Byron Sprague to this year’s Designer Alley at #G2S2023!
A little bit about Michael written in his own words.
I am a lifelong gamer, who started primarily in the trading card space with games like Magic: the Gathering. At age 11, I made my first game with a friend, which was basically just a riff on Yu-Gi-Oh. I have always dabbled with design off and on throughout the last 20 years, mostly creating fake cards for Magic. After burning out on keeping up with the ever growing card pool in Magic, I began exploring the broader realm of board games. The creative energy I had with designing decks then became channeled into board game design.
Currently I am unpublished, but I have several projects at various levels and have been learning as much as I can about the industry and building out a solid network over the past 2 years. In addition to being passionate about games, my wife and I are raising two daughters and I work as a commodities trader. THREE RANDOM FACTS ABOUT MICHAEL:
He is almost always wearing a backwards hat, even at work! (hence the name on social media)
Michael studied Video Game Design, then Music Production, before finally settling on and getting a degree in Marketing
His favorite movie is Dodgeball

CYPHER SESSIONS: You are a rapper attending your first cypher in this card based word game for 2-6 players. String together rhyming lyrics to try and maintain control of the mic. Be careful though, imperfect lyrics leave the door open for others to jump in.
