Isaac Hirschfeld

We are excited to be welcoming Isaac Hirschfeld to this year’s Designer Alley at #G2S2024!

A little bit about Isaac, written in his own words.

During the pandemic, like so many other unfortunate souls, I decided to try board game design. I founded Montage End Games with a focus on creating games that scale from a gateway experience to light-medium complexity, all in one box. Welcoming others and teaching are passions of mine, so you can frequently find me at board game conventions, demoing for other companies such as Tabletop Tycoon or Good Games Publishing. I have done development work with Frown Clown Games, Muse & Mettle, and playtest with other inspiring designers often. Other than Arbor Falls, I am also designing an expansion for the upcoming game Twisted Trumpets. I am event coordinating for Dragon Egg Games to have their first booth at GenCon 2024. As a member of the engagement team, you can find me overly engaged in the Board Game Revolution Facebook Group, making memes and hyping others about games.

For my primary career, I am a registered nurse. Over eight years, I worked in an acute care hospital, caring for patients as young as 5 weeks and as old as 106, tending to their critical health conditions. Currently, I work in a university health clinic, caring for their health needs and coordinating health promotion events.

THREE RANDOM FACTS ABOUT ISAAC:

  • He once played Monopoly so intensely, an opponent’s nose started to bleed.

  • He likes flying in airplanes, but he’s jumped out of them 3 times (with a parachute).

  • He can tie his own shoelaces.

ISAAC WILL BE SHOWING OFF HIS GAME ARBOR FALLS IN DESIGNER ALLEY AT #G2S2024

Arbor Falls: It’s time for a change, so you move out of the bustling city, to the quiet, small town of Arbor Falls. You set out to collect quirky furniture to decorate your empty home. Along the way, you help your neighbors, meet new people, and clean up the town. Through Calendar Events, meeting visitors at the Inn, using tools from the Community Tool Shed, Donating money for town renovations, and achieving Town Tickets, you will have plenty to do.

Arbor Falls is a 1-4 player worker placement and set collecting game. Over 4 rounds, you will complete Neighbor Favors and save up to buy furniture. The Favors give in-game points and the furniture give end of game points in both theme and color sets.

You can play with all the 5 modules of the game to have the full game experience or remove any number of the modules to make the game accessible to children, non-gamer friends, and family.
