Bill Huffman

We are excited to be welcoming Bill Huffman to this year’s Designer Alley at #G2S2024!
A little bit about Bill, written in his own words.

My wife and I and our two teenage children live in NH and enjoy playing games together, when we have the time. I am a copyeditor by trade, including game rulebooks sometimes. I’ve played games my whole life. My first game design was when I was about 10, an Empire Strikes Back themed game. I have playtested my games at numerous cons, including Granite Game Summit,  in the past few years and I love how receptive people are to trying something new and in development. Maybe you have played one of them: Enemy Lines, Tidal Tiles, Armory, Cattycombs of Rhyorr, more. In general, I love how people of all backgrounds and ages can gather to play a game, temporarily set aside their stresses and worries, and enjoy each other’s company.

THREE RANDOM FACTS ABOUT BILL:

  • His career has included being a music critic, concert promoter, magazine publisher, and pizza delivery person.

  • He has two screws in his right elbow from surgery after a rather mundane accident when he was 14.

  • He is immensely proud of his children, who keep doing great things.

BILL WILL BE SHOWING OFF HIS GAME CATTYCOMBS OF RHYORR IN DESIGNER ALLEY AT #G2S2024

Cattycombs of Rhyorr:  Cattycombs of Rhyorr is a light euro with tile placement, resource management, and some asymmetry. It has a mix of strategy and randomness, but what would one expect from a game about mice with backpacks eating cheese and reclaiming trinkets that were stolen by pesky cats? Collect tools, eat cheese for energy, claim trinkets, navigate the maze, encounter cats, and get out with the most points.
